Overview
The Local Council's residential refurbishment programme addressed general upgrades, new roofing and associated works across multiple affordable housing blocks. These 2-storey residential buildings required sensitive refurbishment while maintaining occupant safety and minimising disruption.
David's appointment covered multiple schemes within the programme, providing both pre-contract cost planning and post-contract quantity surveying support. This continuity ensured cost control mechanisms established during earlier RIBA stages were effectively implemented throughout the construction phase.
The projects were delivered under JCT contract forms, requiring thorough knowledge of the contract mechanisms and procedures to ensure proper administration and fair resolution of variations and final accounts procedures.
